Central American Ministry Outreach: Program Overview

This family from the Quebradas de Agua community is currently needing a CAMINO home…

Give A Family The Gift Of Security And Shelter!

CAMINO has been able to get close to 80 families into safe new homes. Their old homes of all of these families were made from scrap materials that were at risk of falling down. In fact several of the families that received a CAMINO home, had their old home fall down in the period between us taking their picture and when we were finally able to build their new home. In one case an elderly couple had their house fall down on top of them, breaking the femur of an 89 year old woman. CAMINO homes get families out of homes that could literally kill them, as has occurred in other parts of Honduras. Without a CAMINO home, families risk tetanus from rusty metal siding, leaky roofs causing mold and mildew problems, dirt floors and even dirt walls that can expose families to a long list of illnesses, in addition to the risk of their home collapsing on top of them while they sleep. Help us improve a family’s living conditions by sponsoring a CAMINO home for just $1500!

Give Children The Gift Of A Better Future!

After a year and a half of an economic depression caused by the pandemic, and then two massive hurricanes, families in Honduras are barely able to afford to put food on their tables. When you are struggling to survive, spending money on education expenses becomes secondary. Many children are forced to drop out of school, often for basic things like a ripped shirt or a worn out pair of shoes. Others drop out because a younger brother or sister needs to start school and the family can only afford so many children in school at a time. In one community that we work in, just 12% of adults have attended school beyond the 6th grade, while only 2% actually graduated from high school. In comparison 10% of the adults in the community were never enrolled for a single day of school in their life. We want to change that trend! Please help us get students back into the classrooms this year. For $150 you can sponsor a CAMINO student for the 2023 school year!

Our church plant in Belen has moved into the new activities center for now. We have land in Belen, and in 2024 we hope to start construction on a permanent church structure there.

Help Make It Easier For US To Share Jesus’s Love!

Every community in Honduras needs to have a church. Public transportation is scarce, which means that most people need to be able to worship close to home. The problem is that the most impoverished communities struggle to financially support a church. We work to take bible studies and churches into communities where the word of God is not being taught. In other cases, we support the Honduran churches and ministries that have already been called into these impoverished communities. We do this by providing bibles and other materials for the ministries, by providing training for lay leaders in these church plants, as well as by helping with construction projects that the community would otherwise be unable to fund. Our own ministry has spawned two church plants, Iglesia Metodista Unida El Camino and Iglesia Roca de Salvacion, which we are currently pastoring ourselves. Find out more what you can do to support these efforts!

Teams often enjoy building new homes for families living in extreme poverty. We also have larger construction projects and even playground construction that teams can also take on.

Come Join US for a Life Changing Adventure…

Time after time we talk to fellow missionaries that share about that life changing trip when they first came to Honduras and had a life changing experience. We have been there as well! While we know that everyone cannot move to Honduras full time, we are fairly confident that your first trip to Honduras will be an eye opener for your personal and spiritual life. Just as we love to build relationships with the Honduran families we work with every day, we want to share with you as well. What is even better is that your time in Honduras can also have a life changing impact on the families we work with. We have seen the fruits of mission trips, both for the trip participants and for the families here in Honduras. While the work done during these week long trips are important, what changes people’s lives are the relationships that develop during this time, which only grow stronger with each additional trip down. Please read on for more information about planning your next trip!
